Malia Sanchez Benefit

On most days, a moviegoer's main concern is getting that perfect seat...
But, just take just one look at The Alexandria Grand, and you'll realize, this isn't your average day at the movies.

"We've got a blood drive going on, we've got a raffle going on... To try to make some money for her and her family"

Three year old Malia Sanchez from Boyce just received a heart transplant, and Lynn Kemp from the Alexandria Grand, is showing her heart to help her.

"We're all praying for her, and hope she can come home soon."

That's why members of the Grand asked their customers to go the LifeShare blood center bus outside, and donate on Malia's behalf.

Mary Treadway
"Our Goal is to replace the volume of blood that Malia has used throughout her illness and her surgery and her treatment..."

Apart from the blood drive and raffle, the theatre was decked out and ready for a day of Family fun. Balloon artists, face paint, games, and crafts were on display to promote the release of the new movie, Frankenweenie.

"There's a lot of fun things for the kids to do along with going to the movie."

And on day's like this, when it comes to seeing a show at the Grand, there seems to be a Grand Show of neighbors helping neighbors, and families helping families.

If you couldn't make it today, you can always donate blood at the Lifeshare Blood Center on North Mall Drive.
