ALEXANDRIA, La. -- It's a funny name for a very, serious cause.
Tiger Lanes hosted it's annual "Bowling for Boobies" Sunday at the bowling alley.
The event raises money for the local chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation and breast cancer awareness. Bowlers could knock down some pins while trying to knock out breast cancer.
Participants say the event has become a favorite. And, for the second year in a row Cenla has come out to support.
"This really means a lot to me, as well as the other breast cancer survivors in Alexandria," said Melissa Close, a cancer survivor. "We are coming together as a community and as a family trying to support a great cause. Hopefully, one day we will be able to find a cure for breast cancer, as well as other cancers."
Aside from bowling, you could also decorate a bowling pin in honor of someone who has battle breast cancer. There was also a silent auction and a "pink" store set up.
