ALEXANDRIA, La. - Demolition work at the Old Armour Building on Lower Third in Alexandria started Thursday.
The $1 million project will make space for new apartments to be built in the space that once served as the home of Armour Wholesale Meat Company.
Plans are for a seven-unit apartment building on the site. The building was built back in 1909, and has been vacant for about 30 years.
