Grand Ecore Visitor Center Reopens

Posted: Updated:

MONROE, La. - The Vicksburg District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Grand Ecore Visitor Center, will reopen on Oct. 25 for public visits.

The center was temporarily closed on Sept. 27 in order to perform beautification projects, clean up and maintenance projects.

The Grand Ecore Visitor Center is operated under the Vicksburg District's Louisiana Field Office, and is located at Grand Ecore, which is approximately four miles north of Natchitoches.

The center displays exhibits that educate and inform the public about the Corps of Engineers' role in development, preservation, and enhancement of the water resources in the region. It also educates about the geology, paleontology, and Native American cultures of the region.
