VERNON PARISH, La. - The Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office is reporting a plane crash in the northeastern section of the parish.
Detectives discovered wreckage of a Cessna 172 and the body of a white man. Officials say the body was taken to the LSU medical center in Shreveport.
The FAA and VPSO are investigating the cause of the crash.
