RAPIDES PARISH, La. – Deputies say there has been several complaints last week of a man trespassing and stealing items from the 92-year-old victim.

On Oct. 16, RPSO arrested Delane Clark of 2747 Rigolette Rd. in Pineville. Deputies say they charged him with for burglary, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, criminal damage and possession of stolen items.

Clark is accused of taking the victim's vehicle without permission on Oct. 7 when the victim was admitted to the hospital. There was also an extension cord running from the victim's residence to a trailer Clark is living in---stealing the victim's electricity.

According to reports from the sheriff's office, the victim's home was also ransacked with furniture damaged, closets emptied out onto the floor and clothes everywhere. The windows of the residence were also broken out. In Clark's possession were the victims VA I.D. card, Social Security card and stamp and coin collection, detectives say.

"People take advantage of the elderly and steal everything they have worked their whole lives for. Our deputies pay very close attention when we get complaints from elderly victims to make sure they are not being taken advantage of," said Sheriff William Earl Hilton.

Additional charges on Clark are pending. Clark is currently in the Rapides Parish Detention Center on a $19,750 bond.

The case is open and the incident is still under investigation.
