RAPIDES PARISH, La. - A plan to provide additional services for residents living in Rapides Parish Fire District 2 is on the ballot.
The Rapides Parish Fire Department is asking voters to say yes to renew a proposition on Nov. 6.
The department wants to change wording of an existing proposition that will allow the department to legally respond to medical calls, as well as provide their fire and rescue services.
Officials say residents will not have to pay out of pocket for the medical response. Fire Chief Randy McCain says it's a win-win for everyone.
