RAPIDES PARISH, La. – Recently, two suspects were arrested involving an armed robbery that happened earlier this year when a man entered a store demanding money and whiskey.

According to reports from the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office, deputies arrived at the River Store at 1006 La. Hwy 113 on Jan. 11 for an armed robbery.

According to the store clerk, the armed suspect entered the store with a firearm and demanded money and whiskey. The store clerk described the suspect as a skinny white man with dark colored clothing wearing a camouflage mask on his face. The clerk also said he was armed with a black shotgun.

After searching the area, deputies said no evidence or suspects were located. Reports also stated that the store's security video was not properly operating during the incident.

On Oct. 18, detectives received information about the robbery that identified two suspects: Brenda Voorhies Lemmon, 45, of 103 La. Hwy 461 in Hineston and John Lemmon, 49, of 103 La. Hwy 461 also in Hineston.

Deputies interviewed them and obtained search warrants. The suspects were placed under arrest without incident and booked on armed robbery and firearm charges. They are being held on a $150,000 bond.
