MONTEREY, La. - Late Tuesday night, a single-vehicle crash seriously injured a man from Monterey.
Troopers responded to the crash around 9:50 p.m., which occurred on La. Hwy 129 at La. Hwy 565. The crash involved a 1996 Chevrolet Lumina, driven by 37-year-old Robert Grey. The Chevrolet was northbound on La. Hwy 129 when Grey lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a tree.
According to reports from the Louisiana State Police, it is unknown if Grey was wearing a seatbelt. He sustained serious injuries and was transported to Riverland Hospital for treatment.
Routine toxicology tests and charges are pending. The case is open and the crash remains under investigation.
