Central Louisiana Human Services Selects Executive Director

Posted: Updated:

ALEXANDRIA, La. – On Wednesday, the Central Louisiana Human Services District Board of Directors announced the appointment of Egan Jones as executive director of the Central Louisiana Human Services District.

Officials say Jones will join leadership and operations of behavioral health and developmental disability services to create a community-based model for Central Louisiana residents.

"The Central Louisiana Human Services District Board is excited to have selected Egan Jones as our first Executive Director," said Roseada Mayeux, Chairman of the Board. "Egan has the experience, knowledge and passion needed to serve in this position. The Board has great confidence in him and looks forward to working with him as we continue our journey to become a fully operational Authority."

"I am pleased to announce this exciting step in the process of establishing a human services district in the Central Louisiana region," said DHH Deputy Secretary Kathy Kliebert. "We are working toward having local government entities in each of the State's regions to consolidate and deliver these services at the local level, enabling local leaders to play a more active role in health care delivery within their communities."

After an extensive national search and comprehensive review of applicants, the Central Louisiana Human Services District's Board of Directors selected Jones as executive director.

Jones is a native of Central Louisiana and graduate of Louisiana State University and Grambling State University, where he obtained a master's degree in social work and has been a licensed clinical social worker since 1998. He has more than 21 years' experience working with developmental disabilities, addictive disorders and mental health. Prior to this role, his most recent position was DHH Office of Behavioral Health Regional Administrator in Region 6.
