POLLOCK, La. – A prisoner who escaped from work detail on a nearby camp at the U.S. Penitentiary in Pollock surrendered to authorities early Thursday afternoon.

According to officials from the U.S. Marshal, Craig Boudreaux, 33, surrendered to federal officials around 12:30 p.m. in Alexandria. Boudreaux, who was being held at FCC Pollock, walked away from the facility yesterday.

He was serving a 168-month sentence for possession of methamphetamine. U.S. Marshal officials say his federal custody started in June 2006. Boudreaux has been incarcerated at FCC Pollock since July 2007.

"We made apprehension of this fugitive a top priority," said U.S. Marshal Henry Whitehorn of the Western District of Louisiana.
