LAST WARM DAY FOR A WHILE

Thursday brought more 80s to Cenla with the highest readings reported from Colfax and Natchitoches at 88 degrees. The 30-year average for the date is 77 degrees. Both local airports, International and Esler, reported 86 degrees.

Say goodbye to the warm weather for a while. A strong cold front will arrive early Friday with some rain and a lot cooler air. Unlike the typical cool spell this time of year, this one will have staying power. I look for temperatures to stay below average through most of next week.
