It was another "Chamber of Commerce" day across central Louisiana. Temperatures started out in the 40s as a warming trend brought readings up by 8-12 degrees over the previous night. The chilliest readings came from Winnfield with 41 and Esler Airport and Colfax with 42. Several locations could only cool to the upper 40s. Williana, Hagewood, and DeRidder fell to 48 degrees. The 30-year average min temp for Halloween is 50 degrees.
Afternoon highs turned around about 30-40 degrees under a partly cloudy sky. Marksville, Opelousas, Anacoco, and Natchez, Miss. all hit 79 degrees for the "cool" spots. The warmest readings came from Bellwood, AEX, Esler, and Winnfield at 82 degrees. The large temperature spread made it feel like two seasons today. A jacket or sweater felt good this morning but the temperature rose fast enough to shed them by Noon. The average high for the date is 75 degrees.
The warm weather will continue through Saturday. The calendar changes to November tomorrow. I'll have a summary of October weather and look forward to November in future posts.
