I just finished talking to the weather watchers and they agreed that it was a fine day.
Morning lows were mostly in the 40s but some 30s also appeared. The lowest readings were 36 at Natchez, Miss. and 37 at Jena and Leesville. In the Alexandria/Pineville metro, International Airport fell to 38 degrees while Esler Airport stayed at 41. The 30-year average for the date is 48 degrees and the record low is 27 set in 1959.
Dry air and ample sunshine forced a big rise in temperatures during the day, but a steady northwesterly breeze held highs in the 70s. However, Natchez, Miss. only reached 66 degrees. Most readings were in the low to middle 70s. In the metro area, International Airport hit 74 and Esler maxed out at 73. The average for the date is 73 degrees and the record high is 87 set in 1906.
The delightful weather pattern will continue for the rest of the week. Enjoy!
