Overview
There is a deep, broad area of High Pressure that is continuing to extend over
the plains and much of the Eastern half of the nation. There is still lingering
rain along the Atlantic Coastline that is associated with a recently departed
cold front. This high pressure will bring continued sunny skies and a much
cooler air mass over much of the nation

Discussion
As this ridge of high pressure continues to extend over area, we sit to the
East of the center. This means that, as anti-cyclonic rotation is clockwise, we
are currently seeing winds with North and NE motion. The closer the center of
this circulation moves to our area, the more we will see winds calm down and
begin to shift.
Our region will remain under the influence of this High for the next several
days. That means Mostly Sunny skies, Seasonably Cold Temperatures and Near
Freezing Overnight Lows.
Conditions will begin to return to average toward the weekend.
For the rest of the day
Expect to see sunny skies, coupled with seasonably cool conditions and a
moderate wind out of the North and NE, becoming breezy at times. Temperatures
will top out in the lower 60's. Average
temperatures for this time of the year are 46/70. So, we are about 10-12 degrees
cooler than normal, throughout the day.
Overnight, we will see temperatures drop well into the lower to mid 30's with a
light and variable wind and clear skies.
Near freezing temperatures will be abundant throughout the viewing area for the
first time this fall.

For the rest of the 7day planner
This deep ridge of high pressure will continue to build and maintain control of
our forecast. Through the later part of the week, we will see sunny skies and
rain chances off the board. Temperatures will drop into the 30's followed by
lower 40's, this weekend, as a gradual warming trend sets up. Slight rain
chances will return at the end of the 7day planner.
TODAY...A chilly start, followed by some
light, high cloud cover and a cool day. Highs 59-65. NE wind 5-15mph.
TUESDAY NIGHT...Fair
to partly cloudy skies and near freezing temperatures, again. Lows 31-37. A
light and variable wind.
