Folks in central Louisiana faced the lowest temperatures to date this morning as they headed out to work and school. By all accounts, it was a real "Cajun snow."
Most thermometers fell to the freezing mark or lower. The lowest temperature this morning was 28 degrees at Leesville, Jena, Winnfield, Natchez, Miss., and both local airports. Even the warmest readings were in the middle 30s, with 36 at DeRidder and Fort Polk. The 30-year average for today is 46 degrees and the record low is 23 in 1940.
Thursday night temperatures will not be as low, but will still be below normal.
