Freezing Temperatures Tonight

Posted: Updated:

Tonight will be a cold night for most of us here in CenLa. The following parishes are under a Freeze Warning: Allen, Avoyelles, Evangeline, Rapides, St. Landry, and Wilkinson County, MS. A Freeze Warning means that temperatures will drop at or below freezing for several hours during the night. Our low temperatures will range from 28-35, with most areas at or below freezing. Make sure to protect your "3-P's"....plants, pets, and pipes! Frost will likely form in many areas which can damage fragile plants and pipes, and it will just be too cold for the pets to remain outside tonight!

On Sunday we'll see another beautiful day, with sunny skies and seasonal temperatures. Our highs will warm into the mid to upper 60's. By Sunday night, we'll only drop down into the upper 40's for our lows- not nearly as cold as tonight. We

We'll also see increasing clouds ahead of the next cold front.

The cold front will move through the area Monday and Monday night, and should be out of the area by early Tuesday. The best chance for rain will be Monday night, but we will likely see at least a little rain during the day Monday and possibly early Tuesday morning. We'll mostly see rain, but thunderstorms are definitely possible. Some T-storms could be a little stronger than others, but widespread severe weather is not expected.

Once the front moves out of the region we'll see sunny skies and cooler temperatures again for the rest of the week. The next chance for rain after the cold front will be on Friday and Saturday (20%) when another disturbance moves through the area.

Stay Warm!
