After the lowest temperatures of this season Sunday morning, the weather certainly warmed up Monday. Minimum temperatures Monday morning were 25 degrees above Sunday morning's readings at several stations. Afternoon highs climbed into the 70s with Bellwood hitting 80 degrees. Natchez, Miss., was the "cool" spot with a high of only 70. This temperature difference marked a subtle warm front draped across central Louisiana.
With the warmth came some humidity and scattered rain developed. Most rainfall totals were less than 0.25 inches, but portions of northern St. Landry Parish received 1-1.5 inches according to radar estimates.
A cold front and an upper-level disturbance will combine to trigger rain and thunderstorms Monday night and Tuesday morning. This will provide welcome rain to those who receive it.
