About Jacob Upshaw

Jacob Upshaw has been a dynamic presence in the media industry in central Louisiana for over 10 years.  While completing a Bachelor of Arts in Media Communications at Louisiana College, Jacob helped flourish M&M Sound and Media, a local production company specializing in wedding videography, commercial services and interview projects.  After graduating from LC Jacob had the opportunity to film,  produce and edit a series of promotional videos in Zambia, Africa for the International Mission Board.  Jacob's services have been contracted on the local level by Louisiana College, Little Cakes with Big Attitude, Louisiana Athletic Club, The Shepherd Center, Calvary Baptist Church and Emmanuel Baptist Church and repeatedly on the national level by ESPN.

Jacob has been employed at KALB-TV in Alexandria, LA as the Promotions Manager and the Director of Web and Mobile Development since 2009. While at KALB-TV, Jacob has mastered the fast paced and ever-changing world of social media.  Jacob has spread KALB's social media presence across Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus and Instagram.  Due to his knowledge and expertise, KALB-TV's social media presence is one of the largest in central Louisiana with a Facebook following of over 18,000 - one of the largest Facebook followings in this market size.  Jacob also maintains KALB.com, which averages over 650,000 page views a month. In addition to maintaining KALB's web presence, Jacob is responsible for coordination and promoting all station events including Shredfest and their annual Komen Race for the Cure involvement.

Along with his social media work at KALB-TV, Jacob has been instrumental in consulting and building the social media presence for area businesses:  M&M Sound and Media, Ebenezer Sales, Louisiana Athletic Club, The Louisiana Dragon Boat Races, The Family Playhouse, Debbie Ahrens Designs and Sexton Animal Clinic (Ruston, LA).  Jacob is continually consulted on best practices for maintaining local social media site as well as social media marketing strategies.
