Overview
There is a cold front that is stretched South from Canada, through the Central
Plains and into the Texas Pan-handle. In the wake of this system, another ridge
of high pressure will build in. However this next ridge of high pressure will
not be accompanied by an extreme temperature difference.
Discussion
In advance of the approaching cold front, there is a lot of moisture being
pumped into the area from the GoM (Gulf of Mexico). The next 36 hours will
bring with them increasing rain chances, Mostly cloudy skies and extreme
temperatures that are well above average for this time of the year. Average highs settle around 67 for this time
of the year. We are expected to see a high near 80 degrees. The all-time high
for today was 84, set back in 1995.
Along with seasonably warm temperatures, rising rain chances are expected
throughout the day and overnight. The risk for severe weather will be very low
as we will only see showers and thunderstorms associated with this system.
Conditions will remain in the 70's throughout the 7day planner.
For the rest of the day,
Expect mostly cloudy skies with continued increasing cover and rising rain
chances throughout the overnight hours as a Cold front approaches the area.
This front will bring a likely chance for Showers and thunderstorms that will
be scattered. There will be a breezy wind that is moderate and out of the South
& SE.
Overnight, we will see lows in the upper 50-s and lower 60-s with a good chance
for scattered showers and thunderstorms, as a front passes over the area.
For the rest of the 7day planner
This next front will push through overnight and will bring with it a good
chance for rain. However, temps will not see much of a drop after it passes
through.
Highs will fall into the lower to mid 70's but not for long. There is a
secondary front on the 7day planner that will move through during the weekend.
Throughout the entire planner highs will remain in the 70's and stay well above
normal.
