Beneficial rain fell on portions of central Louisiana Tuesday. A weak cold front and strong disturbance aloft triggered the rain. The highest totals, based on radar estimates and rain gauge measurements, came from Winn, Natchitoches, Grant, Evangeline, Avoyelles, and St. Landry Parishes. Here is a list of the top five totals:
Atlanta...2.40
Winnfield...2.37
Gum Springs...1.77
Natchitoches...1.54
Ville Platte...1.50
Other locations received little or no rain. Bellwood reported no rain; Many and AEX reported 0.01; and Anacoco, Williana, and KALB-TV all received less than 0.10 inches.
Regardless of the total, most people I spoke with were happy. More rain is possible Tuesday night and into Wednesday.
