Overview
There is a LPS (Low Pressure System) that is off the Gulf Coast and lingering
over the Northern Gulf of Mexico. A Weak ridge of high pressure over Georgia is
slowly building west and a developing LPS in the Southern Plains will begin to
gain strength during the next couple of days.
Discussion
The LPS that is off of the Gulf Coast is bringing "Return Moisture" over our
area. This is creating a lot of heavy cloud cover. The cloud cover is expected
to begin dissipating later today. Due to the abundant cover, we will see temperatures
much lower than previously expected. I have brought temperatures down to a more
Seasonable range and into the 60's. Cloud cover typically keeps temperatures
moderated (Cooler during the day and warmer at night).
Clearing will begin late this afternoon and through the evening. Skies will
remain a mixture of sunshine and cloud cover through Saturday afternoon. Rain
chances will stay low for the next couple of days as a warming trend sets up
during the next couple of days.
The weekend will bring with it, gradually increasing clouds and rising rain
chances as a cold front moves into the area and approaches Central Louisiana.
For the rest of the day,
Due to the cloud cover, afternoon temperatures will remain seasonable for
December 6th. Cloudy skies will remain abundant and will begin
slowly decreasing later this evening. Rain chances will stay low and highs will
be in the 60's with a Light wind out of the Southeast.
Overnight, skies will be fair to partly cloudy with a cool feel and a light
& variable wind.
For the rest of the 7day planner
Skies will gradually clear out through Saturday, becoming mostly sunny to
partly cloudy for some parts of the area. The later part of the weekend will
bring with it, increasing clouds and rising rain chances in advance of our next
weather making system. This front will knock overnight lows back to the
freezing mark.
THIS AFTERNOON...Mostly cloudy skies with some clearing, becoming partly cloudy. Highs in the 60-s. A light and variable wind.
THURSDAY
NIGHT...Mostly cloudy with off/on light rain or drizzle possible. Lows 50-56.
Light & Variable wind.
