After a two week layoff since their last live game action, the #24 Louisiana College Lady Wildcats dropped their first game of the 2012-2013 season, losing a 97-94 decision to Ferrum College on Friday afternoon in Montgomery, Alabama.
The Virginia based school seemed to solve the mystery of LC's defense, as they allowed the Lady Wildcats to come up with only 11 steals while shooting 52.4% (33-63) from the floor.
Despite a nice performance offensively that saw four players score in double figures and draining 13 three-pointers, the Lady Wildcats were out rebounded 54-37, including a 37-24 margin on the defensive glass.
Ferrum, who moves to 7-0 on the season, was led by Jacole Hairston with 23 points and 7 rebounds.
Natosha Gottlieb once again led LC with 17 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals.
LC, now 8-1 on the season, will have a short layover before they take the court on Saturday at 11 a.m. for a matchup against Transylvania University (Ky.) before coming back home on January 3 for an ASC matchup against Texas Lutheran.
