Overview
There is a weak cold front that continues to slowly move Southeast and into the northern Gulf of Mexico. In the wake of this last front, a ridge of high pressure will extend over the area. There is a developing low pressure system over the SW U.S. This system will be our next weather maker in Central Louisiana.
 

Discussion
A cold front continues to slowly push SE, over the Northern Gulf of Mexico. This weak system is slowly fizzling out. In the wake of this front, a ridge of high pressure is building down from the plains and helping perpetuate the northerly breeze that we have been seeing.
There is an upper level system over the SW U.S. that will be our next weather maker. This system will open up into a trough and move over our area on Saturday night. In the meantime, we will continue to see in and out cloud cover with a slight chance for some light rain. The coming system will wash everything out and usher some Dry air into the viewing area.

For the rest of the day,
Skies will remain sunny with a cool feel to the air and a light to moderate wind out of the North. This evening, expect increasing clouds, becoming partly to mostly cloudy skies and cold temperatures. Lows will be near the freezing mark with a light and variable wind.

After a weak front moves through the area on Saturday, we will see skies open up and rain chances fall off the board through the beginning of the work week as a broad ridge of high pressure moves in and brings with is a lot of dry air.
This week, highs will be in the 50-s and lows will be in the 30-s with low rain chances after Saturday.  
 
TODAY...Clearing skies, becoming mostly sunny to partly cloudy. Highs 50-56. North wind 2-12mph.

THURSDAY NIGHT...Partly cloudy skies, becoming mostly cloudy and near freezing temperatures. 30-36. Light and variable winds.
