Cloudy Skies and Light Rain

Overview
There is a developing Low Pressure System over the Midwest. A front is stretched South and over the Central Plains. There is also a plume of moisture that is moving into our area in advance of this front. A ridge of high pressure continues to move East and will influence our even less as the day moves forward.

Discussion
This plume of moisture that is moving over our area will bring slight rain chances to the forecast with cloudy skies and a light to moderate wind that will be variable. There will be an approaching front through Saturday. Altogether much rain is not expected during the next couple of days and temperatures will not fall enough to bring us any snow.
There is an upper level system will be our next weather maker. This system will open up into a trough and move over our area on Saturday night. In the meantime, we will continue to see in and out cloud cover with a slight chance for some light rain. The coming system will wash everything out and usher some Dry air into the viewing area.

For the rest of the day,
Skies will continue to become more cloudy with a cool feel to the air and a light to moderate wind out of the North. This evening, expect higher rain chances with cloudy skies that will last through the overnight hours. If the temperature does drop enough for some light snow, we will not see any accumulation as the ground will be warm enough to melt the snow as it makes contact with the ground.

After a weak front moves through the area on Saturday, we will see skies open up and rain chances fall off the board through the beginning of the work week as a broad ridge of high pressure moves in and brings with is a lot of dry air.
This week, highs will be in the 50-s and lows will be in the 30-s with low rain chances after Saturday.

TODAY...Mostly cloudy skies and cool with a few sprinkles possible, later. Highs 49-55. NE wind 2-12 mph.

FRIDAY NIGHT...Mostly cloudy with a slight chance (20%) for rain. Lows 35-41. Light wind out of the NE.
