The new work and school week began on a nasty note Monday as rain, wind, and low temperatures brought an end to the spring-like conditions of the weekend.
The daily max temps held in the 40s and occurred during the early morning hours. As the rain commenced, temperatures dropped into the 30s and held there into the evening.
More rain fell in central Louisiana Monday with a few substantial totals noted. Ville Platte measured the most rain with 2.35 inches while Nantachie Lake in Grant Parish came in second with 2.30 inches. Other substantial amounts came from Simmesport with 1.80 inches and Eunice with 1.78.
More rain will fall Tuesday and there is even a chance for some light sleet or elevated icing along and north of a Many-Natchez, MS line.
