The weather headline across central Louisiana Thursday was the return of full-time sunshine. Everyone I spoke with said they were happy to see the sun after such a protracted spell of clouds and precipitation. At the KALB-TV studios, I saw nine straight days with measurable rainfall.
As the sky cleared Wednesday night, the cycle of nocturnal cooling began. This process sent morning minimum temperatures into the uppers 20s to the middle 30s. The lowest readings came from the western part of central Louisiana with Many and Leesville reporting 27 degrees. In the Alexandria/Pineville metro, AEX reported 31 and Esler reported 29. The 30-year daily average is 59 degrees.
The full sun brought high temperatures into the 50s. However, Many reported 62 degrees as the warm spot. Natchez, Miss. was the cool spot with a high of 52 degrees.
Friday promises to be almost a carbon copy of Thursday. Enjoy!
