The new week in central Louisiana began on a fine note as clouds mixed with sunshine and temperatures rose to comfortable levels. Monday was the fifth straight day without rain at KALB/NALB DTV in downtown Alexandria.
Monday morning began with a seasonal chill as temperatures fell into the middle 30s to the lower 40s. Jena and Natchez, MS were the coldest spots with lows of 34 degrees. Opelousas, DeRidder, and Marksville were the warmest spots with 41 degrees.
Despite increasing clouds, afternoon maximum temperatures managed to reach the 60s. However, Bellwood in Natchitoches Parish hit 70 degrees. Natchez, MS was the coolest with a high of 61 degrees. A cold front entered central Louisiana from the northeast during the afternoon. The frontal passage, combined with more clouds, forced temperatures to drop by evening.
This pleasant weather pattern should hold through midweek.
