The weather watchers said the weather was "feeling good" here at midweek.
The weather did not begin well for many folks with dense fog across the southern portion of central Louisiana. The dampness, combined with temperatures in the upper 30s and the middle 40s, produced a penetrating chill at times. Esler Airport reported the lowest temperature Wednesday morning with 37 degrees. Ville Platte, Hagewood, and Peason Ridge all reported 43 degrees for the honor of the highest min temp.
A mostly sunny sky prevailed during the afternoon and coaxed temperatures into the 70s. Many and Bellwood maxed out at 75 but Opelousas and Natchez, MS only hit 70. The 30-year average is 60 degrees.
The fog is expected to make an encore Thursday morning and clouds will mix with limited sunshine for the remainder of the day. Temperatures will continue to be mild for January.
