Monday was a warm day on both sides of the thermometer. Minimum temperatures ranged through the 60s, which is 20+ degrees higher than the 30-year average of 38. Afternoon highs ranged through the 70s, some 10-15 degrees higher than average.
Tuesday promises to be even warmer as southerly winds increase in response to a major weather system out west. This system, and its associated cold front, will advance across central Louisiana late Tuesday through Tuesday night. Rain and thunderstorms will develop with some storms becoming severe.
Cooler weather will follow the front with min temps falling back into the 30s Thursday and Friday mornings.
