FEBRUARY 2013 OUTLOOK - KALB-TV News Channel 5 & CBS 2

Posted: Updated:

Now that January is in the history book, we can look forward to what type of weather February may bring.

Officially, the Climate Prediction Center (CPC) sees February being warmer and drier than average in central Louisiana. Here's my opinion.

I see February 2013 about average in temperature with the first half of the month being mild and the second half of the month cooler, which would balance out the warm weather of early month. There will be several opportunities for a freeze during the middle and latter part of the month, however, severe cold is not expected.

I also think February 2013 will be wetter than normal as several periods of unsettled weather punctuate the month. With the expected temperatures, it appears we will not see ice or snow this month. Sorry, kids.

Stay tuned...we'll see what actually happens.
