Two Tioga High Students Charged With Terrorism

Posted: Updated:

ALEXANDRIA, La. – Rapides Parish investigators say two teenagers from Tioga High School are in custody Tuesday afternoon after they were charged with 10 counts of  terrorism.

According to reports from the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office, after investigators responded to email threats made to students and faculty on Jan. 31, the RPSO Cyber Crimes Unit positively identified Jessica Winslow, 17, of Alexandria and Ti'jeanae Harris, 17, also of Alexandria, and charged them with 10 counts of terrorism.

"As I said before, we take every threat in our schools as a credible threat and I am happy to say we have made these arrests," Sheriff William Earl Hilton stated in a press release Tuesday afternoon.

On Tuesday, detectives say they arrested and charged the teens before they were taken to the Rapides Parish jail. The girls are being held without bond at this time, investigators say.

Detectives say the girls told them "they just wanted to see if they could get away with it."

Investigators say even though the arrests have been made, the case is open and incident is still under investigation. All electronic devices used in during crime have also been seized as evidence, detectives say.
