
Dense fog greeted central Louisiana residents as they headed out to the morning commute. Visibility was practically zero at some locations.
Morning lows were 10-15 degrees higher than the 30-year benchmark averages. However, the damp air made even "mild" temps a bit more penetrating. Despite limited sunshine, afternoon highs climbed into the 70s at a few locations with 72 at Many the highest report.
Early morning showers brought 0.25 inches to Colfax, 0.15 in Leesville, and 0.10 at Esler Airport and at Ville Platte.
A more significant rain event is shaping up for late Wednesday into early Thursday. Peak amounts may reach two inches, but less than one inch will be the rule.
