A cool breeze followed a cold front through central Louisiana Wednesday and succeeded in chasing the rain away.
Morning minimum temperatures ranged through the 40s with Natchitoches and Atlanta reporting 43 degrees. Temperatures stayed in the upper 40s in Ville Platte and Opelousas.
Daytime highs only managed to rise into the 50s with Natchez, Miss. the lowest with 52 degrees. Marksville reported a high of 60, which is the warm spot for the day.
Thursday promises to be a delightful day with full sunshine, light wind, and comfortable temperatures.
SPECIAL NOTE: On February 13, 1899, the minimum temperature in Alexandria fell to 3 degrees. This still stands as the all-time record low for the city.
