Everyone around town remarked what a nice day it was. However, the day started cold with frost and fog at many locations. In fact, a freeze occurred this morning all across central Louisiana except the southern portion where Opelousas only fell to 38 degrees, Ville Platte 37, and Eunice 36. The lowest readings fell into the upper 20s, including 29 at Jena, Leesville, and Fairfield. Many other thermometers saw temperatures drop to between 30 and 32 degrees. For most, it was the first freeze of the month!
Ample sunshine forced max temps into the 60s at most locations, including 68 an Many for the warm spot. Simmesport warmed only to 58 degrees and the Charles Park Subdivision in Alexandria had 59.
Another cold front will move through the area late Friday and bring more clouds and even a few sprinkles remain possible. A cool breeze is on tap for Saturday.
