The new week for central Louisiana began with rain Monday but the sunshine returned Tuesday.
A cold front moved into the Alexandria/Pineville metro around 11PM Monday. The front triggered soaking rains as it moved southeastward through the region. Here are the top five rainfall totals from our exclusive weather watchers network:

The cold front brought cooler, drier, and more stable air into the area and the result was ample sunshine for Tuesday. All of the weather watchers I talked to said they enjoyed the sunshine more than the rain.
