Midweek arrived in central Louisiana with clouds and cool weather. A few sprinkles fell across portions of Sabine, Vernon, Grant, Natchitoches, and Winn Parishes. An east to northeast wind at 10-25 mph made it feel even cooler than the thermometer said.
Morning lows were mostly in the 40s, however, Natchez, Miss. fell to 38 degrees. Many reported the highest minimum temperature with 46 degrees.
Afternoon highs ranged from the middle 50s to the lower 60s. The coolest spot was Grant Parish, with Colfax, Fairfield, Bentley, and Aloha all reporting a high temperature of 56 degrees. Simmesport was the warm spot with 62, followed closely by Opelousas with 61.
The weather changes Thursday as warmer air returns ahead of a cold front and upper-level low. The setup will trigger rain and thunderstorms. A few storms may become severe.
