The new week began unsettled as rain and thunderstorms invaded central Louisiana ahead of a cold front.
Morning low temperatures ranged from the middle 50s to the lower 60s. Afternoon high temperatures ranged from the upper 60s to the middle 70s. Anacoco was today's warm spot with 74 degrees. Simmesport was the cool spot with a high of 67.
Rainfall was general across central Louisiana Monday with amounts varying widely. Here are the top five totals:
Reports of hail came in to the weather center from Avoyelles, Beauregard, and Winn Parishes.
Everyone said they are tired of the rain but they realize there may come a time in the next few months when rain will once again become a precious commodity. In fact, I have a seven-day forecast with no rain; we'll see if it verifies.
