The debates, discussions, and arguments among the Editors at UsenetReviewz has finally ended and the final decisions for the Annual Usenet Providers Awards have been made. Here's five of the Award honorees…
South America (PRWEB) February 28, 2013
Over the last few weeks there has been a steady stream of debating, voting, and rationalizing, coming from the offices of the Editors over at UsenetReviewz. And though the providers they are reviewing have all worked hard throughout the last year, only the best will stand out from the crowd. And, this is what defines who will become the winners in the various categories. Here are a few of the Usenet Providers the UsenetReviewz Editors felt were head and shoulders above the rest..
2013 Best Web Based Newsreader Award goes to SABnzbd. This newsreader may be a little difficult to set up and configure, but the benefits of this free program far outweigh the small effort it takes to get it up and running properly. There are plenty of nice features, full integration with Newsnab sites, and unpack/repair automation, in this free web based Newsreader.
2013 Best Small Newsreader Award is being given to Binreader. Not only is the software download small, (15 Mb,) but the wear on the resources like RAM, and processor usage are at a minimum, too. The Binreader newsreader has all the most popular features, is highly configurable, and there’s even portable version. (Which won them this award.)

2013 Best NZB Site, a tie between Nzb.su and Usenet-Crawler.com. The field changed a lot in the last year, a couple of the bigger NZB sites closed, and a couple of small ones. But, that opened the way up for others to came and fill in the void, and these two sites have held their own in the turmoil, and were possibly even improved a bit by it. Both sites have huge libraries, good retention, and other stats.
2013 Most Improved Newsreader Award is presented to: Newshosting Newsreader. The number, quality, and effectiveness of updates, upgrades, features, and add-ons, are just the start. The support system is also evaluated, as is the appearance, or “curb appeal” of the client. And, the developers, support staff, and administration at Newshosting have been busy for the last year. There have been a few updates, and a couple of improvements, and the Newshosting newsreader developers made the largest strides forward.
2013 Most Improved Usenet Provider Award goes to Newshosting. Newshosting receives this award as in the last several months they have increased retention several times in the last year, improved their header retention to bring it inline with binary retention and there have been several “under the hood” improvements to the newsreader. Expansions in their offerings have also been implemented in the last year.

When scoring the providers UsenetReviewz editors place more weight on the statistical rather than the subjective aspects of the providers’ service or product. But, where these things do come into play, they assure readers that they do their best to remain unbiased. These Awards and more will be announced on the website UsenetReviewz.com in the coming weeks.
