March behaved like a lamb today with full-time sunshine and comfortable temperatures.
The day began with a chill as readings fell into the 30s. Winnfield, Jena, and Fairfield all registered 31 degrees for the honor as central Louisiana's "cold spot." The highest morning min temps came from DeRidder at 39 degrees and Opelousas, Bunkie, Charles Park, and Eunice with 38 degrees. The 30-year average is 47 degrees and the record is 23 degrees.
Plentiful sunshine brought about a large turn-around in temperatures for the afternoon. Winnfield and Bellwood saw 75 degrees while Natchez, Miss. only reached 66 degrees. The 30-year average is 70 degrees and the record is 86 in 1967.
Friday promises to be just as delightful. Enjoy!
