A COOLER DAY

Posted: Updated:

Monday's cold front dropped temperatures across central Louisiana today.

Morning lows were 10-15 degrees lower than Monday morning's temperatures. A steady breeze made the change feel noticeable. Winnfield recorded the lowest temperature at 44 degrees. The highest readings came from Opelousas and Ville Platte with 52 degrees.

Daytime highs were ten degrees lower than Monday's near-record warmth. Bellwood and Anacoco were the warm spots with 78 degrees while Natchez, Miss. was the cool spot with 72 degrees.

An area of maximum winds in the jet stream, called a jet stream, will move across central Louisiana during the night and Wednesday morning. This will trigger scattered showers. The disturbance will sweep through quickly so a clearing trend will commence Wednesday afternoon.
