It was an absolutely gorgeous day around central Louisiana.
The morning started with a chill as temperatures fell into the upper 30s to the middle 40s. Winnfield, Jena, and Esler Airport all reported 38 degrees. Opelousas was the "warm spot" with a low of 45 degrees.
Ample sunshine turned temperatures around 30-35 degrees from the morning low to the afternoon high. Bellwood, Williana, and Pitkin maxed out at 74 degrees for the highest readings. Simmesport only reached 67 degrees for the "cool" spot.
The weekend is looking good. Southerly winds will increase and coax temps up a few degrees during the day. Saturday morning will still be chilly but Sunday morning with be warmer. You can expect fog early Sunday.
