The new week began on a warm note as a steady southerly wind developed across the area.
Low temperatures Monday morning were mostly in the 60s, although a few 50s were noted. Natchez, Miss. and International Airport reported 59 degrees. The average for the date is in the middle 50s.
Afternoon highs ranged from the upper 70s to the middle 80s. Simmesport reported a high of 85 degrees while Bentley only hit 78 degrees. The daily average is in the middle 70s.
A few showers and even a t-storm or two moved across central Louisiana during the afternoon. I did not hear of any measurable rainfall amounts.
Tuesday will offer much the same conditions. Lows will be in the 60s and highs will be in the 80s. Southerly winds may gust up to 35 mph.
