Other chilly spots were Fairfield and Anacoco at 38. The 30-year average is 53 degrees and the record low for the date is 35 set in 1989.

Full-time sunshine turned temperatures around 30-40 degrees. Bellwood hit 79 for the highest in he area while Natchez, Miss. only made 70. The 30-year average is 77 degrees and the record is 89 in 1976.

The weekend will give us mostly good weather, although scattered showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast Saturday night and Sunday morning. A couple of severe or strong storms will be possible.
