If you thought it was warm Monday, it was! In fact, at most locations, it was the warmest day of the year (thus far). To make matters worse, the first 90s of the year were reported at Bellwood (91), Anacoco (90), and Winnfield (90). Other max temps were in the middle to the upper 80s. Opelousas, however, was the cool spot with a high of 83 degrees. Locally, AEX reported 88 degrees and Esler saw 87. The record high for the Alexandria/Pineville metro area is 91 set in 1925.
The warm weather will continue through Thursday. By late Thursday, another cold front moves through central Louisiana. The front will be accompanied by rain and thunderstorms and cooler weather will follow the front for Friday and Saturday.
