It was a warm Wednesday around central Louisiana as temperatures once again soared into the 80s. In fact, Simmesport reached 90 degrees for the "hot spot" in the area. DeRidder saw more cloud cover and only maxed out at 82 degrees. Today's highs were all well above the 30-year average of 78 degrees. The record high for the date is 92 in 2006.
The day got off to a very warm start with temperatures in the lower and middle 70s. The 30-year average is 58 degrees.
Thursday will be the last warm, humid day for a few a while. A cold front will move through central Louisiana Thursday night. The front will bring a round of thunderstorms, some of which may become severe Thursday afternoon into Thursday night. Colder weather will follow the front and temperatures will bottom out in the upper 40s by Friday morning. Yuo'll notice the difference!
