Increasing southerly winds brought higher temperatures to central Louisiana Tuesday.
Morning lows were in the 50s and 60s with the highest temperatures in the eastern and southeastern sections of the area. Simmesport, Opelousas, Marksville, Ville Platte, and Natchez, Miss. all reported lows between 62 and 65 degrees. In contrast, the temperature fell to 52 at Atlanta in Winn Parish and Anacoco in Vernon Parish.
Morning clouds eroded and partly sunny skies prevailed for the afternoon. The sunshine brought max temps into the low to middle 80s.
A cold front will move through late tonight and Wednesday morning. Rain and thunderstorms will accompany the front.
