Thursday continued the trend of below normal temperatures in central Louisiana.
The morning brought a chill in the air for folks who had to get an early start. Temperatures ranged from the middle 40s to the lower 50s. Jena and Natchitoches were the cool spots with a low of 45 degrees. Opelousas stayed at 53 degrees for their low. The 30-year average is 57 degrees.
A minor disturbance aloft spread clouds over the area through noon but clearing progressed nicely as the feature moved to the east by the afternoon. The clouds prevented a large diurnal temperature increase. Thus, max temps ranged from the upper 60s to the middle 70s. Anacoco reported the highest reading with 75 degrees while Cherokee Village and Charles Park areas of Alexandria were the cool spots with 69 degrees.
Friday will offer us another cool start but a warmer afternoon.
