The tranquil weather pattern of late continued Wednesday in central Louisiana.
Morning lows were still below normal with readings in the 50s. Jonesville and Leesville were the cool spots with lows of 52 degrees. The temperature fell no lower than 59 degrees at Ville Platte and Simmesport. The 30-year daily average is 61 degrees.
The afternoon was warm with highs in the 80s. Simmesport reported the highest temperature at 88 degrees. Colfax and Bellwood followed closely with highs of 87 degrees. DeRidder and Ville Platte only made it up to 82 degrees. The 30-year daily average is 84 degrees.
Changes in the weather pattern are in the offing as a slow-moving upper-level low will head toward central Louisiana over the next several days. This feature will be able to trigger rain and thunderstorms from late Thursday through Saturday.
