An upper-level disturbance activated an unstable atmosphere and the result was a heavy rainfall event.
General rainfall totals were between one and three inches. Peak totals exceeded five inches with 5.50 inches reported seven miles west of DeRidder. These excessive rain caused Bayou Anacoco near Rosepine to rise nearly ten feet overnight.
More rain is expected Saturday but totals should not match the Thursday-Friday event.
Have a good weekend.
